Is coconut oil good for sunburn?

Coconut oil has anti-inflammatory properties to aid in the skin’s regeneration, and its antimicrobial properties can prevent the spread of harmful microorganisms. Using coconut oil can aid in your irritated skin’s recovery, and it can also help to prevent infections if you’re peeling!

Thanks to Plant Therapy’s amazing essential oils, this DIY cooling lotion is invigorating and cooling on your skin.

The peppermint essential oil has a fresh, grassy-minty scent with an instant cooling effect. It’s safe to apply on your skin when diluted with other products and the minty fresh scent can even help with nausea.

Sensitive to peppermint? You can also use Plant Therapy’s lavender essential oil, which is another great natural relief aid for itching and bug bites.

My Hip sidekick, Lina, came up with the original recipe for this whipped cooling sunburn lotion. Here’s what she had to say about it:

“This whipped cooling lotion is so soothing and moisturizing. I love incorporating coconut oil into my skin care routine and this is a fun and easy way to do it . Plus, the Plant Therapy essential oil smells soooooo amazing!” – Lina

In addition to making a great moisturizer, this cooling sunburn lotion is also beneficial in that it provides some natural relief from itching due to bug bites, poison ivy, and hives.

As a bonus, you can also opt to add other essential oils (like lavender, as mentioned above), your favorite essential oil scent, or even none at all if you’re overly sensitive to them. That’s what I love about this recipe – you can totally customize this lotion based on your preferences and create a scent using any of Plant Therapy’s amazing options!

Enjoy, friends!
